Vortex Raid Tool on World of Warcraft: Forever

The guild tool for a raid team forming on Forever: what works from the first login, what comes with the raids, and how a guild that also raids Anniversary runs both.

The dates it is built around

27 OctoberName reservation — guilds form, Discords open, tools get chosen.
4 NovemberLaunch. Five weeks of levelling: the roster, professions and the guild bank matter; loot does not yet.
9 DecemberBarrow Deeps (10), Hyjal Summit (20) and Onyxia's Lair (40) open. Assignments and loot priority from here.

From the first login

  • The roster. Mains, alts, roles and ranks, kept from your Discord — and re-rolls: a raider who levels a new main keeps their history under the new name.
  • Professions and recipes. Every craft of every profession and who in the guild can make it — Forever's own recipes included — searchable on the site and in the addon's Professions tab. Nobody keeps a spreadsheet.
  • Guild bank requests. Raiders ask for flasks, enchanting materials or anything the bank holds; officers hand out and the ledger says who got what, when.
  • Discord. The bot answers in your server: the roster, the requests, the standings once they exist. One login opens the site.
  • The addon. Vortex Raid Tool Forever, for the Forever client: professions, the guild bank and roster reads, the assignments tab. On the beta now; on CurseForge once it has been seen working there.

With the raids, 9 December

  • Assignment sheets that fill themselves in from your Raid-Helper comp — tanks and swaps, healer pairs, positions, interrupts — built the week the raids are seen, boss by boss, as they were for Black Temple and Hyjal. The page says so until then instead of showing an empty sheet.
  • Loot priority from attendance, parses and consumables the moment Warcraft Logs logs Forever, with wishlists, loot history from your loot addon and the council's numbers in the game's voting frame.
  • Boss guides and printable sheets for every boss, once there is a boss to write about.
  • Three raid sizes, one standing. A 10-, a 20- and a 40-player night count alike; "our raid" scales with the size — 6 of 10, 12 of 20, 24 of 40.

Raiding both games

A guild on the hub adds a Forever edition beside its Anniversary one with one click: the same Discord server, its own roster, ledgers and pages, a switch between the two at the top of every page, and one subscription for both. Discord commands go to whichever edition the guildmaster names.

Questions

Does Vortex Raid Tool work on Forever at launch?

Yes — the parts a guild uses while levelling: the roster with re-rolls, the professions and recipes registry (Forever's own recipes are in it), guild bank requests, the Discord commands and the site. The raid pieces come with the raids.

What about the raid assignments and loot priority?

Barrow Deeps, Hyjal Summit and Onyxia's Lair open on 9 December. Assignment sheets need the bosses to exist and be seen; loot priority needs Warcraft Logs to log Forever. Both are built the week the raids open, the way they were for Black Temple and Hyjal — until then the pages say so instead of showing an empty sheet.

Is there a Forever addon?

Vortex Raid Tool Forever — a separate addon for the Forever client, built from the same code as the Anniversary one: the Professions tab with every craft and who can make it, the guild bank and roster reads, the assignments. It is on the beta now and goes to CurseForge once it has been seen working there.

We raid Anniversary too. Do we set up twice?

No. A guild on the hub gets a Forever edition beside its Anniversary one with one click — the same Discord server, its own roster, ledgers and pages, a switch between the two on every page, and one subscription for both.

What does it cost?

A free trial when you set up; the plans are on the hub. Setting up takes a minute with a Discord login — the demo guild shows every page before you do.
